On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Sunshine's Angel of Mercy Childrens' Whisperer LLC will host their 45th Annual Atlanta Missing & Murdered Children Memorial Festival which will be held at The Historical Fourth Ward Park, located at 680 Dallas St. For this we sincerely hope to gain your support by being a sponsor/donor!
The Atlanta's Missing & Murdered Memorial Festival is a solemn occasion that pays tribute to the twenty-nine Black & Brown children and two young adults who lost their lives Atlanta, Georgia. This tragic event caused immense pain to the families and friends of the victims and our communities. The festival serves as a poignant reminder of their lives and the impact they had on our community. We honor their memory and remain committed to creating a better future for all.
This Annual Memorial Festival is a heartfelt event hosted by Dr. Sunshine Lewis, daughter of the late John "Big Hat" Lewis Sr., was a prominent figure in our community. Dr Lewis has taken up the mantle to honor her father's legacy and provide to families affected by the tragedy of missing and murdered children. The festival serves as a beacon of hope, offering support, love, and remembrance to the families of our city's Rising Angels.
The annual eight-hour event is open to the public and offers a range of services and activities. Guests can visit the Missing & Murdered stage, located near the North Ave area, where they will find first aid stations, grief counseling, reserved 10x20 tents for families of the Rising Angels, heavy security presence and enclosed kids play area. This event also involves vendors, food trucks and more.
As we host a Mayoral Balloon Release, and a Rising Angel Roll Call. Additionally, a 29 Hearse and Horse & Carriage Processional takes place, and live entertainment is provided by Atlanta's local talents.
The Atlanta's Missing & Murdered Memorial Festival Consist of:
- Next of Kin Recognition to our Annual Missing & Murdered Children
- Recognition to Missing Children
- Recognition of Murdered Children
- Recognition of Drowned Children
- Recognition for Children who died of illness
This celebration of life and awareness brings together the entire community, including mayors, councilmen/councilwomen, celebrities, independent artists, children, adults, seniors, and many more. It's a wonderful opportunity for solidarity and unity in our city. We invite you to join.
OUR VISION
Our city mourns the loss of a young life, and we believe it is our responsibility to honor their memory by creating a safer and more supportive environment for our youth. With this in mind, we propose making the last Saturday in September an Annual Day of Unity, where we come together as a community to show our love, guidance and protection for our young people. We invite you to join us in this important endeavor.
